Coach Pitch Division: Ages 7-8

This division is intended for any child who will attain the age of 7 or 8 yrs old on or before 4/30 of the current season who have successfully demonstrated all of the TB skills. A safety ball will be used at this level since this will be the first-time children will be pitched to versus hitting off of a tee. 6 yrs old may be considered but must have played 1 yr of TB, be approved by the Player Agent and their previous coach.

89’ers Division: Age 8 and 9

This division is intended for any child who will attain the age of 8 or 9 yrs old on or before 4/30 of the current season who have successfully demonstrated all of the Coach Pitch skills. At the 89’ers level, all games will be a combination of coach-pitch and player pitch with a Little League® approved hardball . The 89’ers level is where the players should begin to understand “WHY” they are making certain plays.

All players must have played at least 1 yr at the Coach Pitch level to be eligible for 89’ers. 8 year olds must be approved by the Player Agent and previous coach.

Minors Division: Ages 10-11

Any child who will attain the age of 10 or 11 yrs old on or before 4/30 of the current season shall be eligible to play Minors. All players ages 10-11 not already on a Minors team will be invited to tryouts. A player must attend tryouts and be selected by a manager during the draft process in order to play at the Minors division. Unless selected to play Majors division, all 11 yr olds will be selected to play at the Minors division.

9 year olds must have played in one year at the 9’ers Division and be approved by the Player Agent to attend the tryout.

The primary objective at the Minors division is the same as the previous levels with emphasis on preparing players for advancement to the Majors division. The Minors division is both instructional and competitive with more emphasis on instructional than competition during the regular season.

Majors Division: Ages 11-12

Any child who will attain the age of 11 or 12 yrs old on or before 4/30 of the current season shall be eligible to play in the Majors Division. All eligible players will be invited to the player review. A player must be selected by a manager during the draft process in order to play at the Majors division. All 12 yr olds will be selected to play at the Majors division unless a safety issue exists determined by the Player Agent.

The Majors division is both instructional and competitive with admittedly more emphasis on the competitive aspects of the game than at the Minors division. Managers focus on fielding a competitive team while also providing the players with a fun learning experience. Players should focus on refining their baseball skills with a strong emphasis on consistency. Often the difference between an average player and a good player is the ability to consistently execute the required skills.

Your player will need to comer to tryouts if your player:

• Is 10, 11, or 12 and played in the minors last year. All 10 and 11 year olds are draft eligible for the majors. If your child does not get drafted, they will most likely return to the same minors team as last year. ALL 12 year olds will play on a majors team unless it is determined there is a safety risk.

• Is 9 and wants to play in the minors instead of the 89’ers division. To be considered for this the player must be assessed to ensure s/he has the appropriate skill set for that division level of play.

If your child is playing in the Tee Ball, Coach Pitch, or 89’ers Division they do not attend any tryouts. They will be contacted by their team manager by the last week in February.
